Farmajo elected for the new president of Somalia

Mogadishu(Faanoole)-Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was Wednesday elected to be the president of the Federal Government of Somalia in a tough election happened in the capital Mogadishu, Faanoole reported.

Farmajo got tough contest with the incumbent president, Hassan Sh. Mohamud and former president, Sharif Sh. Ahmed in the first and second round, third round needed for both him and Hassan, but Hassan Sheikh resigned and admitted defeat.

“ I am leaving to run for third round, I am going to congratulate the new president of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo”, Hassan Sheikh said.

The new elect president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was sworn to be the president of Somalia.

“The Parliamentarians replied the will of the people, this success is for all Somali people, thanks to those who gave their votes and supported the change”, The new president, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaji said.

Thousands of people across major towns in Somalia took to the streets showing support for the new president.

There is hard-work for the president to handle in terms of security, economic and the drought crisis in the Somalia now.
